Is it ok to actually enjoy your job?
So is it? I’m not saying I wake up every morning and think to myself: man, I wish the train ride to the city didn’t take so long. I want to be in that office right now. No no… I enjoy the weekends just as much as the next guy (and sometimes a little bit more) but I don’t mind the work. Of course, as my roomate reminded me, I have only been on the job for about a month though.
Work just put me through html classes. They want me to take over website responsibilities and are willing to train me to do so. I can’t wait to get into the thick of things (again, as my roomate mentioned: I say that now).
The Alfa Program has me studying Russian history every evening after work. Fascinating. That’s what’s great about this job; there are so many smart people and all of them are seeking more smartness.
And even better: I’m helping to make these kid’s dreams come true. It’s so much fun to talk to people and watch their eyes light up when asked to describe their experience abroad. I know it… I can relate. But now, to give these people that chance…
