Room for Rent in Spacious Prospect Heights Apartment: $580/month

the place: gorgeous apt overlooking the intersection of vanderbilt and bergen. available september 1. the room: 7.5' by 9' (or so).

includes (free of charge) loyal radiator, functioning light switch, fully operating door (complete with turning knobs), and glass-appointed window. will it accommodate your collection of 50s-era danish furniture? no, it will not.

us: two early 30s guys. one has a collection of plants and soccer balls. the other has a collection of stories from thailand. there's beer brewing equipment in the kitchen. both are as likely to stay out at the bars until 3 as they are to fall asleep on the couch watching PBS at 10 pm. if this describes you as well, i call the couch. seniority, and all.

you: tell us about yourself in an email. we'll judge you according to a highly subjective set of criteria, responding with something bland like "sorry, the apt is taken" if we find you dull. or if the apt is taken. there will be an open house later next week.

subways: quick walk (7 min) from bergen stop on the 2/3 or 7th ave stop on Q/B line or clinton/washington on C line.

amenities: dubbed "kind of a nice neighborhood, really" by the dubai tribune-ledger, prospect heights, and its marquee drag, vanderbilt ave, don't suck. which is to say you have several bars and restaurants to choose from (including one just two flights of stairs away, on the ground floor), a grocery store, a gourmet grocery store, a liquor store, a boutique liquor store, an italian restaurant with paper napkins, an italian restaurant with linen napkins... you get the idea; vanderbilt has it going on. we're also steps (probably about 1000) from prospect park, park slope, the brooklyn museum, the brooklyn library and a variety of other landmarks that will be revealed during the scavenger hunt (phase three of the interview process).
